We’re a bunch of guys in Bangor, Co Down NI who meet monthly in two separate groups to have breakfast together and to study the Scriptures. One group has been at this for nearly five years, the other is more recent, but the format remains consistent. Breakfast is ready from 8am on Saturday morning, and after about 30 or 40 minutes, the table is cleared and we read the passage for that day. There are no ‘leaders’ and no bible study resources, just the text, and the questions that it prompts.

This blog is an attempt to continue the conversation and reflection after we leave the table and in the weeks between our get togethers. But it also tries to capture things we notice during the stuff of everday life. So expect contributions about music, sport, especially football, and anything else that occurs.

This is what was written in the first ever post, back in March 2006:

i think i read somewhere that there are 40,000 new blogs published every month. no doubt there are many abandoned each month too, but it still amounts to a whole lot of people who believe that they have something to say which others need to/want to/should read. well here’s another one. we have met now for nearly three years, once a month on a saturday morning to eat a hearty breakfast then to read the bible together. our intent is to try and make some sense of faith in the context of our variety of life experience.

However you have found us, whether you are a member of one of the groups or not, you’re welcome to the conversation.
